| Step
|
- Use your mouse to choose how many years of your study, and what grade system you want.
At this moment, I only convert 100 point system to 4.0 GP system.
- Input period of your semesters (terms). If you input these correctly, the summary report will look very great. You can input whatever format you want:
e.g. 1996 spring, 1995.1~1995.5, 1st semester... etc.
- Input names of the Categories (fields) which the courses you have taken can be cliassfied with.
e.g. Mathematics, Mechanics, Computer Programming,... etc.
- Input total number of subjects you want to input. e.g. if you have taken 52 courses, you should input a number great or equal to 52.
Note: if you just want to test this program, I suggest you use the default value, 5. When you input a larger number, it will consume your memory, finally, it may even kill out your Netscape windows.
- After you have inputted the above correctly, click on the button--Print Subject . It will launch a list of forms into the upper frame. Also, a new window will be created in which it will teach you how to continue next step.

| Step
|
- Now, a lists of forms are in the upper frame. You should check if the information is correct or not. If you want to add/remove 1 or more items in the name of semesters or name of categories, or total number of subjects, you should move your mouse to the lower frame to change the corresponding information and press the Print Subject again.
- If everything is ok enough, you can start to input the name of the courses (subjects) you have taken. Chronological order is recommended. For each subject (course), you should select the corresponding semester, category which it belongs to, and input its number of credits (units) and the score (in 100 point system) you have obtained for it respectively.
- After you have finished it, (or part of it), you should keyin your name, and click on the button--Print Summary Report
|
| Step
|
- Now, you will see a summary report of your Grade History is launched into the other window, and in the lower frame of the original window has this instruction.
- Check out the Summary Report, unbelievable, uh? Yes, it should be great, if you inputted everything correctly.
If you found something wrong, you can move your mouse to the upper frame to change it, and click on the button-Print Summary Report again, then, you will see the result.
- However, at this stage, if you want to increase the number of subjects, or name of semesters or catetories which you set up in the first step, you must return to the Step 1, and thus all the subjects information you have inputted in Step 2 will be lost, and there is no way to recover it anymore !!
|
| NOTE |
- You can change the size of the window or frame at any time, but I suggest you not to do this often, especially when you have many forms inside the frame in Step 2.
- Do not Reload too frequently, it may consume much of the memory and kill the whole Netscape windows.
- Be sure you have finished Step 1 correctly before you start Step 2. If you click the Print Subject button in the lower frame after you started Step 2, all the data you inputted in the upper frame of Step 2 will be gone !!!
- This Calculator can not remember things you have inputted. What you can save is the Summary Report. To save it, you must move your mouse to that window where Summary Report is located, then, choose File->Save As to save that window as a file. You can specify any file name you want. But please do not use the default name, gpaa_show1.html, because it will overwrite the original file and kill all the javascript codes!
